The new model illustrates the great attention paid to every stylistic detail, from the selection of materials to the choice of colors: blue is emblematic of Lancia tradition and appears both inside the car and outside. Soft recycled blue velvet wraps the seats, with a ribbed pattern and double stitching, the same color being repeated on the door panel and dashboard inserts. Lancia blue is also found on the model’s elegant and contemporary bodywork: it blends with the black of the alloy wheels, displaying a refined visual impact devoid of chrome.

One of the main features of the new LANCIA YPSILON EDIZIONE LIMITATA CASSINA is the Cassina multifunctional “tavolino”. The values that have guided the two brands on this journey are the Italian spirit, the taste for the iconic, innovation, research and respect for tradition as well as the attention paid to environmental issues. Respecting tradition means redesigning the Lancia tradition using innovative recycled and recyclable materials, as in the main components of the recreation of a “living room”. An example: a unique use of a historic and emblematic material, Lancia fabric, which has been given a new identity thanks to a contemporary material: the seats and backrests are in blue double-stitched ribbed recycled velvet, the color of Lancia and from Cassina. The rest of the seat structure is made from recycled PVC. The same color is found on the door panel and dashboard inserts.

A new stylistic language for bodywork

The new Lancia Ypsilon is the first production car to apply the aesthetic principles of the Lancia Pu+Ra Design concept (a name combining “pure” and “radical”), a design language unique to the brand and intended to endure over time. Combining tradition and innovation, the model brings the brand into a new era by using an atypical vocabulary for the automotive industry: volumes are created by superimposing successive layers, adding and crossing basic and emblematic shapes such as circles. , rectangles and triangles. The bodywork combines soft, pure and sensual shapes evoking the Aurelia and the Flaminia, with more modern and radical expressions inspired by certain sports models of the brand, such as the famous Stratos and Delta, but also with the language taken from the worlds of architecture, furniture or fashion.

The reference to the most brutal soul of the brand appears clearly on the rear part of the car: the New Lancia Ypsilon is equipped with round LED headlights, reminiscent of the unforgettable and legendary Lancia Stratos. These two lights now contain a new design element, the letter Y, made of brushed stainless steel and whose original font is inspired by the world of fashion.

This ideal conversation between purity and radicality is also underlined by the Ypsilon lettering which appears at the rear, its “handwritten” characters taking inspiration from historic Lancias such as Fulvia, Flavia and Flaminia.
