kicked off this weekend at the Rallye Rh\u00f4ne-Charbonni\u00e8res with a record field.<\/h3><\/li><li><h3 class=\"western\">Fabrice Bect claimed his second consecutive victory after a breathtaking battle with Gr\u00e9gory Fontalba and Ludovic Godard in extremely tricky weather conditions.<\/h3><\/li><li><h3 class=\"western\">The Alpine A110 Rally also won the French Two-Wheel Drive Rally Championship in the hands of C\u00e9dric Robert.<\/h3><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7110\" \/><\/p><p>The Troph\u00e9e Alpine Elf Rallye launched its third season with the largest service park in its young history in Charbonni\u00e8res-les-Bains.<\/p><p>Victorious in the final last year, Fabrice Bect started the year as he finished the previous one by immediately taking the lead ahead of Ludovic Godard and Gr\u00e9gory Fontalba. Title holder, the latter responded straight away to take the lead, but Fabrice Bect regained his lead midway through the day by 1\u201d6. Ludovic Godard was 5\u201d2 behind the leaders, while having the same advantage over Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Mourgues.<\/p><p>The fight intensified in the afternoon. Author of the best time in Bibost &#8211; Montrottier &#8211; Brullioles 2 and Saint-Cl\u00e9ment &#8211; Villechen\u00e8ve 2, Gr\u00e9gory Fontalba returned to first place, but the conditions and the choice of tires in the last test played in favor of Fabrice Bect, who finished the stage two tenths of a second ahead. Ludovic Godard remained in ambush by finishing the first day of action at 8\u201d1 while distancing Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Mourgues and J\u00e9r\u00e9my Cr\u00e9tien, who were also involved in a breathtaking duel.<\/p><p>On Saturday, the gaps narrowed even further with Ludovic Godard&#8217;s first scratch in SS7. Fabrice Bect reacted to take an advantage of seven seconds after the longest special stage of the course, but Gr\u00e9gory Fontalba did not give up and converted his deficit of 8&#8221;1 into a lead of 8&#8221;5 thanks to a judicious bet on a slightly humid. However, the leader was going to lose big by going off the road at the start of the decisive loop.<\/p><p>Promoted to the lead, Fabrice Bect drove the point home in the penultimate test before sealing his overall victory with a margin of 20\u201d2 over Ludovic Godard. The Gentlemen of Team FJ also won in his class with a 54\u201d3 lead over Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Mourgues, who took advantage of a small error from J\u00e9r\u00e9my Cr\u00e9tien to take third place on the podium. Code Racing Development driver, the latter however won among the Challengers. Vincent Leduc completed the Gentlemen podium ahead of Bertrand Fassio, Romain Haut-Labourdette and \u00c9ric Roy\u00e8re while \u00c9ric Giannini and \u00c9lodie Gines followed in that order.<\/p><p>Alongside the trophy,\u00a0the Alpine A110 Rallys shone while mingling with the best four-wheel drive vehicles in the French Rally Championship. Always present at the forefront of the event, C\u00e9dric Robert ranked sixth and won the two-wheel drive category ahead of Rapha\u00ebl Astier and Fabrice Bect. For his debut with the brand with the A arrow, St\u00e9phane Lefebvre was also in the leading trio before a rollover on SS6.<\/p><p>The competitors in the Troph\u00e9e Alpine Elf Rallye will meet next month for the Rallye Antibes C\u00f4te d\u2019Azur (May 18-20, 2023).<\/p><blockquote><p><strong>Fabrice Bect<\/strong>: \u201cWe have made further progress since our victory at Var last year. We really understood how the Alpine A110 Rally worked and we put it to good use in this great three-way battle against Ludovic Godard and Gr\u00e9gory Fontalba.
