Le Mans trilogy with Audi Tradition

  • May 21 in Ingolstadt: International Museum Day at the Audi museum mobile with the presence of Le Mans prototypes and discussion with “Dindo” Capello

  • In June at Le Mans: Audi Tradition presents the victorious cars during the special exhibition at the 24 Hours of Le Mans Museum and at the Parade of Legends

  • In July at Goodwood: driving legends and winning cars at the “Festival of Speed”

Series of victories: no brand has won at Le Mans as often as Audi in such a short time. The brand with the four rings stood at the top of the podium 13 times between 1999 and 2016. In 2023, the “24 Hours of Le Mans” will celebrate its 100th anniversary and Audi Tradition will join the festivities: in Ingolstadt, Le Mans and Goodwood . “Audi at Le Mans” was recently released for all motorsport fans; the latest book from Audi Tradition presents the success story of the four rings in classic endurance racing on the Sarthe in great detail for the first time.

Trilogie Le Mans avec Audi Tradition

The Audi museum mobile presents a range of Le Mans racing cars during International Museum Day on Sunday, May 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. These include several race-winning cars such as the 2006 Audi R10 TDI, the first diesel-powered racing car to win at Le Mans. Between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in the Audi Forum Customer Center in Ingolstadt, discussion sessions will take place with exciting guests from the world of motorsport, including Rinaldo “Dindo” Capello. After the interviews, the three-time Le Mans winner will be available to sign autographs. In addition, a guided tour of the Museum will be organized to present the history of motorsport of the four rings. For the youngest: in addition to a craft workshop, they can expect a special driving lesson with a pit stop where they can demonstrate their tire changing skills.

Kristensen, Capello and Tréluyer at Le Mans and Goodwood

In this year full of anniversaries, there will also be no shortage of offerings in the legendary region of the event, Sarthe in France: the organizer of the endurance classic is presenting a special exhibition at the “Musée des 24 Heures du Le Mans” with around 80 winning cars from all decades. The brand with the four rings alone will present a dozen victorious cars at Le Mans. Around this anniversary, Audi Tradition will launch three winning cars on the track during the Parade of Legends on Friday June 9, and before the start of the race Saturday June 10: the 2000 Audi R8, the 2007 Audi R10 TDI and the 2012 Audi R18 e-tron quattro – driven by Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Benoit Tréluyer. An appearance at the “Manufacturers’ Village” will close the Ingolstadt company’s commitment to the 2023 edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans: in addition to the presence of the Audi RS e-tron GT, the brand will exhibit the Audi R18 e-tron quattro from 2016 and the Audi S1 quattro Hoonitron, developed for Ken Block. Autograph sessions with Audi driving legends are also planned at Le Mans.

The “Le Mans” theme will also be presented by Audi Tradition during the 2023 edition of the “Goodwood Festival of Speed” in England. From July 13 to 16, Capello, Kristensen and Tréluyer will also be on the starting grid, there -low, driving the winning cars from 2000, 2007 and 2012. Vesa and Juha Mikkola, the sons of rallying legend Hannu Mikkola, will also make an appearance at Goodwood – with the Audi Rallye quattro (Group 4) from 1980 and the Audi 200 quattro “Safari” from 1987 – the two cars from the historic AUDI AG collection with which their father took part in legendary races. A team from Audi Sport will also bring two more recent exceptional racing cars to the line of departure from Goodwood: the Audi S1 quattro Hoonitron and the Audi RS Q e-tron Dakar Rally Prototype.
