“1 car, 4 statements. Today, Lancia tells 4 stories. The first is about the partnership with Cassina, an outstanding Italian manufacturer of high-end furniture that contributes to the brand’s positioning in the premium segment. The second is represented by a comprehensive and elegant range, with a financial offer that positions it in the heart of the market, offering mass exclusiviness. But we have not stopped there…
Today, Lancia previews the Lancia Ypsilon HF, the high-performance version of the first car of the new era, due to arrive in the market in May 2025 and the Ypsilon Rally 4 HF, representing Lancia’s return to rally!
Lancia has always been in people’s hearts, also thanks to its competitive soul represented by some iconic models from a past that made of the brand the most successful one of all time in the rally world. And that sporty heart is starting to beat again today! And those same fans will be the new customers of Lancia of the future!” stated Luca Napolitano, Lancia brand CEO.
Lancia Ypsilon HF
The Lancia Ypsilon HF expresses the brand’s most competitive and high-performance spirit. Lancia is once again inspired by its past, revisiting it to look ahead to the future with great ambition. Powered by a 100% electric 240-hp engine, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, the Lancia Ypsilon HF will feature lowered suspension, a widened wheel track and assertive, muscular shapes, inspired by the most radical iconic cars that made history for the brand, with the shapes and design in the name of performance.
The car will debut on the market in May 2025. After the Lancia Ypsilon HF, the Gamma and Delta will also come in an HF version.
HF logo and the little elephant’s unstoppable run
Returning to stand out on the Lancia Ypsilon HF, the HF logo is the historic signature of high-performance Lancia models, originally introduced during the 1960 Geneva Motor Show, when a group of passionate Lancia car owners founded the “Lancia Hi-Fi” (‘High Fidelity’) club, an exclusive meeting point for the brand’s most loyal customers and especially for people who had purchased at least six new Lancia cars. The HF logo then became a hallmark of the HF Squadra Corse Lancia, founded in 1963 by Cesare Fiorio together with drivers and passionate owners of Lancia cars, and was used as the ‘signature’ for many of the brand’s victories.
The historic logo was made up of HF in white capital letters on a black background, with four red running elephants underscored by the wording “SQUADRA CORSE” in white on red. The little elephant was chosen as a lucky charm, based on the legend that once let loose, these creatures are unstoppable, making them a symbol of performance and driving pleasure.
Unveiled in March in its revisited version, the new HF logo reinterprets its historical counterpart with a contemporary flair: all the constituent elements of the brand symbolize Lancia tradition and are now simplified in terms of lines and shapes in a new balance that expresses innovation, premiumness, and the Italian spirit, with a touch of eclecticism in full respect of the brand’s unmistakable geometries.
Lancia kicks back off with Rally 4
From today, the hearts of many fans and rally enthusiasts will once again be set aflutter. Lancia has decided to return to the world of rallying, starting from the basics of competition – Rally 4, the beating heart of rallying. The class represents pure passion, featuring young drivers beginning their careers with a passion to become the professionals of the future. A new beginning in perfect Lancia style, characterized by ambition, pragmatism and humility, in line with the brand’s mission and DNA.
To this day, Lancia remains the most successful brand of all time in the world of rallying, with 15 World Rally Championships, three Constructors’ and Endurance World Championships, one 1000 Miglia, twice the Targa Florio, once the Carrera Panamericana.
The Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 HF is powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder 4-valve-per-cylinder engine that delivers 212 hp. Equipped with front-wheel drive with 5-speed mechanical transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential, the high-performance model is the ideal solution for all rally enthusiasts to enjoy but is also a serious candidate for drivers aspiring to victory in the R4 class and in the two-wheel drive championships.
“LANCIA CORSE HF” logo
Alongside the HF logo, the Lancia Ypsilon Rally 4 also marks the return of the “LANCIA CORSE HF” logo, the legendary signature of racing cars.
The Lancia brand was inspired by the historic logo, now revisited with a contemporary flair to look ahead to the future, in line with the brand’s Renaissance plan.
The word “CORSE” is now written in a specially created font.
The oblique graphics used for the logo are aimed at expressing the concept of speed, typical of the racing world, creating a stylistic consistency with the shape of the HF logo.
Even the colors, black and white, echo the originals.
The logo can appear both horizontally and vertically.
