Alpine A110 Pikes Peak : en route vers les sommets !

The history of Alpine is built on challenges. From Jean Rédélé’s first commitments to our challenges today, the brand’s DNA is still as strong and present. This quest for performance leads us to always aim higher, towards the summits. The hill climb has always enlivened A arrow enthusiasts. Today, our irresistible thirst for competition brings us to Pikes Peak, one of the motorsport events that has captured the collective imagination for several decades. We look forward to being there with our partners from Signatech and Raphaël Astier, ‘racers’ whose willpower is matched only by their unwavering hunger for challenges. To race on a legendary road, we needed a car built for the event. The Alpine A110 Pikes Peak is here. It is the culmination of Alpine’s art. Aggressive, extreme and stylish, this project once again embodies our roots, our present and our future, all in a country of strategic importance to our future. We remain humble, but we are determined to give the best of us across the Atlantic to write a new unforgettable page in the history of Alpine through this magnificent adventure into the clouds.

Laurent Rossi, Alpine CEO

Pikes Peak is an unmissable motorsport event. We were all nourished by the iconic images of this climb and this dream naturally made its way within our teams. We are competitors and the challenge proposed is more than attractive. We are perfectly aware that this is a different, particular and specific exercise on this very atypical playing field, but that only makes this challenge even more motivating. We want to put the Alpine name on this event and this great first will allow us to position ourselves in relation to the competition in our category. Even if we are not aiming for scratch, we know that we can count on a versatile and high-performance car with this event-specific Alpine A110 Pikes Peak. We are also fortunate to benefit from the support of our loyal partners Elf and Michelin, and from one of our best ambassadors in Raphaël Astier, already rich in experience in this event and an international title acquired with Alpine. This commitment also helps establish Alpine’s position as a brand present in all areas of motorsport expression.

PIKES PEAK, THE LEGEND

A legendary race if ever there was one, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is one of the oldest automobile competitions still held in the United States. Contested in the Rocky Mountains since 1916, this monument of sport has undergone many changes over a century while remaining one of the greatest sporting challenges there is.

Affectionately nicknamed “the race to the clouds”, this hill race offers a route 19.93 km long and punctuated by 156 turns with a start at an altitude of 2,865 meters and a finish approximately 1,440 meters higher. Mechanics, organisms and nerves are put to the test. The difference in air pressure significantly influences the power of the engines throughout the course while drivers often have to deal with a particularly dusty road, changing weather conditions, different exposure to the sun, blind curves and the ever-present threat presents ravine!

Always ready to take on the greatest challenges, the Alpine and Signatech teams will tackle Pikes Peak on Sunday June 25 with the Alpine A110 Pikes Peak, which has been the subject of real work of art to understand the subtleties of this mythical ascent.
